Technology :-)

Heritage students have access to a computer lab of 30 networked PCs. All classrooms have at least 4 computers. Our lab is staffed with a full-time technology resource teacher who is responsible for assisting the teachers in the integration of technology in their curriculum, staff development, maintenance of the lab and classroom network, class instruction, and small group activities. The lab is now available to classes through a partially flexible schedule. Classes are able to sign up for the time they need as a large or small group. In addition to the computers, our students have access to scanners, digital and video cameras, the Internet, and a variety of curriculum related software. We follow the Wake County Public Schools and North Carolina Standard Course of Study for instruction and integration. We want our students to use technology as a tool that will become increasingly vital as they move into the 21st century.

Mrs. Collin's first graders have been reading lots of stories with Gingerbread characters. They wrote and illustrated some of their own. Click the links to see and hear their stories. (uses Windows Media Player)
